The English startup MishiPay has developed a technology that allows the consumer to take a product, scan its barcode with a smartphone, pay by using his mobile and leave the store without triggering the alarm. The concept, patent pending, developed by the startup allows to disable the anti-theft immediately after payment of the article.

In few words

MishiPay allows shoppers to pick up an item, scan the barcode with their phone, pay with the phone and simply walk out of the door with it. If they try to steal, the patent-pending technology immediately catches them and sounds the alarm.

So MishiPay don’t just reduce the queue but completely eliminate it, while ensuring security and integrating into your existing systems. That creates an Amazon Go customer experience for every retailer, at just a fraction of the cost.

Technological innovation

PayMishiPay combines the best of mobile application, cloud computing and RFID and synchronising these with the retailers’ product, payments and security systems. Partnerships already exist in each of those areas with heavyweights like Cisco, Nedap, Zebra, Avery Dennison, and others.

 

Business case

MishiPay is currently in Proof of Value stage with some major European retailers helping them to improve:

  • Sales : conversion from footfall, allowing people to instantly buy anything they want, anywhere in the store, when they want to buy it.
  • Profitability: more sales per square foot, less wastage on cash registers and more productive staff i.e. less time behind till and more on sales floor.
  • Data Insight: know not just what the shopper is buying but what they are thinking of buying and why and make marketing/sales decisions using this.

mishipayLogoNoirThe idea for MishiPay was originally conceived in 2015 when Mustafa Khanwala, Co-founder and CEO, waited in a queue at a supermarket for 20 mins, just to buy a can of soda. Frustrated, he thought that there has to be a better way to do this, for both stores and their customers; and thus, the journey began for the English startup. Today, MishiPay is working with brands, retailers or banks as The Dandy Lab, Cisco, Deloitte Digital, Nedap and Galeries Lafayette.
